Contestants' performances in first two weeks

06/30/2014 to 07/13/2014

This post is about my synopsis of every contestant after observing them for the first two weeks. I've tried to be as neutral as possible because I have not picked a favorite yet. One day I might like Akul, the next day Srujan, and Aadhi the following day. My liking varies after each episode. Same goes for disliking too, although Neethu gets on my nerves on a daily basis.

Akul Balaji

Akul, you learning Kannada and talking like you have always known Kannada from birth is commendable. I really appreciate your hard work to become whatever you are right now. But that doesn't mean you are superior over the others.

Even when Sudeep stalks to him, Akul acts as if he has been best buddies with Sudeep. He might know Sudeep from outside, but fishing out for favoritism from him isn't going to go well with the audiences like us. Last week it was very evident but he has toned it down this week, which was much watchable.

During the weekly luxury budget task he was unbearable to watch. He doesn't take failure very well. Added to that is his air of superiority.

For a change, a non native Kannada speaker like Akul is making an effort to speak in Kannada all the times, compared to all others who were born and brought up in Karnataka. One vote to you for sticking to the rules.

Note to Akul: Humilty, my friend, takes you very far.... And pride comes before the fall!

Mayur Patel

Again, Mayur who?? You are barely seen. And even if you are, you give no input or insight. I would love to have you as my best buddy in real world, because you know how to keep secrets, but for Bigg Boss, you are a dead weight Sorry!!

Note to Mayur: Eat less, talk more!

Srujan Lokesh

Sruju, this is what happens if you try to lift the world's (in this case Bigg Boss's house) burden on your shoulders. You are no Atlas!

Srujan had tremendous energy in the first week, and captaincy drained every last drop. I am glad he is not the captain anymore and we are getting to see more of his funny side.

Srujan is still trying to be diplomatic and it's not good for his game in the long run. When he took Harshika's name for direct nomination, she had been an easy target, and he didn't think he could try hard to justify his actions. He could have easily named someone he despised, but he made big mess of himself by naming Harshika, and the problem didn't get nipped in the bud, like he thought it would. Anyways, out of the three nominated house guests, I found Harshika to be the weak link.

Contrary to what I had been thinking, he is actually well behaved and balanced when handling a situation that doesn't affect him directly. Being a star kid, he hasn't been arrogant so far, even though we get to see the glimpses here and there. We have to wait and see if it his true nature, or his mask isn't slipped off yet.

Note to Srujan: Pleasing everyone gets you nowhere.

Shakeela

Chechi!! Wow, you have almost got everyone under your thumb. Only a matter of time you start playing everyone like a true Bigg Boss player.

Shakeela is one contestant everyone should watch out for. She took her own sweet time to build trust with each and every contestant and extracted information from them. By the end of second week she is using their information on them or against them. How far she can succeed without getting caught, we have to wait and see.

Shakeela is very observant, and even the cameras captures her intense stares when there is some drama happening in the house. She doesn't throw herself first to console them or chastise them. She takes a backseat, analysis the situation, and approaches accordingly. That is making everyone trust her so far, because she is saying the right things to right people.

Also, she is making an effort to learn Kannada which is really good. She has improved a lot in one week. After knowing all other three Dravidian languages, Kannada is not that difficult to pick up soon.

Note to Shakeela: Did you say you already have enough notes on everybody? Okay! Will get back to you next week.

Deepika Kamaiah

Lady, you are one step away from becoming a bitch! Your vamp like makeup is not helping either! I feel like you are the ring leader of the gossiping trio.

Deepika has an air of superiority and makes me assume that she feels everyone is beneath her, especially when she talks to Rohith and Swetha in a condescending manner. Acting in a few Kannada movies and a cameo in Shahid Kapoor's flop movie doesn't make you better than other house guests.

My first impression on Deepika is that her Kannada is cringe worthy. But her English is no better. Is she really a proper Kannadiga? He last name says so, but if her mother tongue is different, then my apologies. But she has to put a lot of effort to converse in Kannada fluently.

Deepika has been loyal to her friends, and hasn't talked anything negative about them, or bitched behind their backs yet. So that's a very good quality and if she keeps this up, she will go far.

Note to Deepika: Please stop playing with your lips.... pouting, nibbling, etc is distracting and not in a good way.

Neethu  Shetty

My God, You are one piece of work. I hope God made just one prototype and gave up soon after. And the second member of the gossiping trio.

I've never seen someone so confused as Neethu. She needs all the attention but at the same time push people away when they try to be cordial. She always goes naanu, naanu, naanu... She can't see anyone beyond herself.... Oh, I am so sensitive about people talking of my weight gain. Oh, I don't like people being sarcastic to me.... Just cut it, and accept the fact that you don't like anyone that doesn't praise you.

It's funny to watch Neethu picking up fights with just male house guests and not females. And, she has some obsession over Akul. She constantly 'reminds' everyone that Akul is after her, but I've not seen Akul giving rats ass about her. Not that he is a saint, but his target is definitely not Neethu, but Aadhi.

Neethu's romance with Aadhi, and their melodrama with lots of huffs and puffs, is cringe worthy. This pair is far from Shwetha-Tilak, who created ripples with their subtle showmance in the first season.

Whether Neethu is a drama queen or overly emotional, she is definitely providing entertainment. Good or bad, she is vocal about her likes and dislikes, and the message gets loud and clear to the other houseguests.

Note to Neethu: Nobody is out to get you, so stop portraying yourself as a victim. And, smile when you can!

Harshika Poonacha

Again, being diplomatic gets you nowhere. And the proof... everyone is in and you are out.

Harshika was the third and the unique one in the gossiping trio. She puts on a baby voice, puppy face, and a never fading smile, while gossiping about others. If we are not observant we might think that she is just talking. She was smarter than most of the other 'grown-ups' but she was out before she could get out of diplomatic mask.

Note to Harshika: You got your Rambo back, so bye bye!

Aadhi Lokesh

One interesting character!! I am not sure what to do with you. Just when I start liking you, you do something that puts you in my dislike list. And just when I decide you are no good, you go ahead and do something really impressive.

Aadhi is controlled by his emotions that sometimes leads to his erratic behavior. He doesn't take others' advice with a pinch of salt. He follows 'my way or the highway' matra in life. Even if doesn't want to listen to them, he doesn't put his foot down and say "Okay, I'll think about it." It will not go well with other contestants on a long run.

Again, Aadhi's love story is not interesting. We are watching a reality show, not tear jerking melodrama.

Aadhi has good rapport with the girls in the house. Fake or not, he shows concern for them and cares for them like he would do with his own kith and kin. There are two evident girl groups, and Shakeela swaying between both the groups. Only Aadhi has managed to get into good books with either group. As a girl, I know how difficult it would be friends with two rival groups... *wink wink*

Note to Aadhi: Do you want to spend all your money on buying tissues, and all your precious time in wiping tears?

Santosh Kumar

Santosh, for a change, I'll tell all your positive points first and then get to your negative.

Love him or hate him, but you can never ignore him. He is everywhere on TV. Doesn't mean he is always likable. Whether he is bullying (Rohit), flirting (Deepika), bantering (Srujan), or gossiping (Akul), he is all over the place. Young blood and full of energy is adding some content to the show.

Santosh has a habit of shooting his mouth without thinking. But, he at least apologizes unlike Aadhi who tries to justify his outburst.

Santosh is too impatient. Whenever he tries to bully Rohit, I feel like smacking him. Uh hello, looking down on someone just because he is not from the same profession is so down market.

Note to Santosh: Tharle, don't fly too high... have one foot on ground

Laya Kokila

You are just like us, viewers.... be there in the group and add your inputs by laughing your ass off. Okay, at least you are getting others to talk more because you will listen to them intently.

Always takes a backseat, despite being older than all the other house guests.

If all the house guests like him so much, then he has something good going for him in the show. We are not shown much of his videos so, we don't know.

Note to Kokila: Thank Goodness, you got rid of your yucky hair locks.

Rohit Patel

Boss, stay strong and show all these show-offs that you are a better person than them. Bullying might work when nobody is watching, but with so many cameras around, the injustice happening to you is working on your favor. Audience is sympathizing with you.

Whether others are not accepting Rohit because he is from a different industry, or he is too arrogant, we don't know. But Rohit is constantly at the receiving end. House guests look down on him and his profession. Being a RJ is an equally responsible job.

So far, whatever negative side Rohit has is being masked away with him constantly being bullied. Aadhi didn't even stop for a clarification when Rohit tried to confront him about "Hodedu aakibidtini" comment. Rohit being unyielding to others justifies that he is trying to protect himself.

Note to Rohit: Be strong and don't give a damn about everyone.

Swetha Changappa

Trying to be a nice person and getting on everybody's good books is an impossible feat. Quit trying and be yourself. Learn from Srujan that pleasing everyone earned him a "Liar" title.

Swetha is one person who genuinely believes she is a very good person at heart. The only difference is, it is not a self earned title. Her constant yapping about how nice she is, and how good she is getting on my nerves.

There is one thing that is nice about Swetha is that when she is in doubt, she goes and clarifies with others in a composed manner. She doesn't yell or make a scene until it really affects in a bad way. That's commendable.

Note to Swetha: It's not your parents home or in-laws home. So, please stop expecting everyone to behave like your family.

Anupama Bhat

Again, Anu who? Is that the one with a beautiful voice?

Note to Anu: Until your stay expires, keep singing. That's the only way I notice that you are still on the show.

    1. As I mentioned earlier, Aadhi has his moments. But I haven't grown tired of him yet... or any other contestant for that matter. 2 weeks is too early to judge.

  3. Akka, you are writing a blog on BBK? Why didn't you tell me earlier? I've not seen BBK from one week. You know the reason.

Let me watch all the episodes first and will comment fosho.

  5. absolute wrong analysis about neethu. you need to be propel your observation skills by many notches. neethu has the best smile and dont forget that you are judging contestnats based on that one hour edired episode. so you actually dont know what exactly and really is transpiring inside.

    1. I am entitled to my opinion, just like you. If I find Neethu abrasive, it is based on what I see on TV and yes, one hour edited show. If you implicate that I have other means to understand her better, please enlighten me. If you read my first few posts, I did try to understand her actions.

Of course I share the same opinion as you. I do like her smile, and I want her to smile more. I never mentioned I am repulsed when she is happy.

If she is really being portrayed in negative way, BBK2 and Suvarna is at fault. I never hate her, but watching her arguing on a daily basis is draining, and I don't find it entertaining.

    2. I am guessing you know her at a personal level. You need to take it to the show producers for portraying her negatively. Asking me to brush on my observation skills is useless because, I can't imagine and speculate what I don't see on TV, in one hour show. I am no psychic. As I said earlier, I am entitled to my opinion.

    1. Shivanna avare, imagine BBK2 without them. It would get boring and the editing team would go crazy finding content to show us. But I will agree with you that showing one person screaming whole episode makes my ears bleed... like what Akul did today. They should balance out everything and show us other light hearted moments too.

  9. hello Dvanitha
    .
just like ur name,ur pretty much clear about'voicing' ur opinion.. but since the voicing aloud involves me,just felt like writing here.. yes,I am one piece of work and I'm pretty disappointed to have not found anyone else just like me-large hearted, easily forgiving and ya,not holding grudges after voicing them aloud.
while I entered the Bigg Boss house it wasn't easy for me because of the phase I was in..i had stopped making public appearances or taking up assignments due to my weight issue..today I have watched almost every episode and I know who has portrayed themselves in which manner and I'm shocked cos that's not how they may have actually been, cos I lived with them for 78 days !
.the teabag incident- if there was anybody in their place I would've still spoken the same thing.. so who actually is biased in giving me real credit? yes, adhi and I have been misunderstood as lovers..NO..I am not a very physical person and being aadhis friend for so long,I credit him for being very warm as a person..now..,a hug is like a boomerang and u will never know on TV what's actually going on..and again NO,I didn't do as much naanu naanu as a few other girls in the house whose banters haven't been highlighted..so my request is-thank you for being open about how u felt...now that the show is done with,I hope u watch my movie works too and judge me as an actor only...cos I believe, to understand a person one lifetime isn't enough
    thank you

Harshika Poonacha's reentry in Bigg Boss Kannada 2

Credit: here Harshika is back in Bigg Boss Kannada 2 on popular demand, as said by Sudeep in Sunday's episode. She was the second contestant to be eliminated after the caption, Srujan, used his power and nominated her directly. We all have to agree that Harshika is back with vengeance. During her conversation with Sudeep, she clearly implied that she had not forgotten how she was unjustly nominated and later eliminated. Srujan will definitely face her wrath in the coming episodes. He has always been carefree after the first week and we might get to see how he will react to someone getting on his nerves. Also, I want to know why she has strong negative feeling towards Swetha and Anu. Is it because they are close to Srujan or is it because Harshika's gossip buddies (Deepika and Neethu) hate their guts? Harshika has also shown bitterness that she lost to Akul and Rohit who were nominated alongside her for elimination. She hasn't been able to digest the fact that she...

Kannada Bigg Boss Season 2 Day 1 synopsis

I hear Akul's voice a lot amidst everyone. I am not sure if it is because I am familiar with his voice, or he actually talks a lot. They get all the kitchen items in the store. Srujan is excited about Chicken and he continuously yaps  about 'a lot of chicken'. RJ Rohith is insecure that he is not popular enough, compared to other accomplished and seasoned stars, and he might lose people's votes if he is nominated. Shakeela points out that he is insecure but he denies and tries to justify. It only makes him sound more insecure... Man, Shakeela can speak awesome English. That's a big surprise because I've only seen her in cheesy roles and never expected her to be so eloquent. The group immediately starts bartering work in kitchen and get down to cook. Shakeela is sitting alone in the garden area, lost in her thoughts. Too bad it's not a serial to hear her monologues and get to know what is running inside her head. Akul stops by and asks her if eve...
