Kannada Bigg Boss Season 2 Day 1 synopsis

I hear Akul's voice a lot amidst everyone. I am not sure if it is because I am familiar with his voice, or he actually talks a lot.

They get all the kitchen items in the store. Srujan is excited about Chicken and he continuously yaps  about 'a lot of chicken'.

RJ Rohith is insecure that he is not popular enough, compared to other accomplished and seasoned stars, and he might lose people's votes if he is nominated. Shakeela points out that he is insecure but he denies and tries to justify. It only makes him sound more insecure... Man, Shakeela can speak awesome English. That's a big surprise because I've only seen her in cheesy roles and never expected her to be so eloquent.

The group immediately starts bartering work in kitchen and get down to cook.

Shakeela is sitting alone in the garden area, lost in her thoughts. Too bad it's not a serial to hear her monologues and get to know what is running inside her head. Akul stops by and asks her if everything is alright. She says yes and goes back to her dhyaan.

They are interrupted while cooking, with Bigg Boss's annoying voice. Did I say annoying? Yes.

Bigg Boss reads the rules that is to be followed inside the house. It is the same as season 1.... Talk in Kannada. Don't remove your mics unless you are using bathroom, swimming pool, or sleeping at night. No physical abuse inside the house.

Bigg Boss tells each contestant to pair up with another contestant and handcuff themselves until told otherwise. There is some confusion and Srujan pleads to shower first. But Bigg Boss commands them to get the handcuffs from store room and cuff themselves pronto. They comply.

Srujan-Anupama
Harshika-Akul
Laya-Anita
Shakeela-Neethu
Shwetha-Santosh
RJ Rohit-Deepika
Aadhi - Mayur

Bigg Boss relents and says that they can take their cuffs off when using the bathroom. But the other contestant has to stay inside the bathroom premises.

After arguing whether or not to shower before lunch, they decide to have their lunch first. They discuss about sharing household work. Looks like Srujan has taken the lead, and telling everyone what to do. I haven't seen the inauguration episode, so don't know if he was selected as caption, or if there was one for that matter. But anyways, the person who takes over kitchen in Bigg House, survives until the end. That's a proven logic for all the previous seasons, mostly.

Voting for nomination begins, and Srujan and Anupama are called inside the confession room.

2. Shakeela - Because of Language barrier

Nominated members

Shakeela - 4
Rohit - 2
Santosh - 2
Anita - 3

Shakeela says Srujan is dominating, but Neethu defends him saying that he makes the environment lively. Apparently Shakeela is not happy with him for not letting her cook. When Neethu wants to call him to discuss, Shakeela denies, and says it goes well for just two days.

Bigg Boss says that the handcuffs to be taken off. All the contestants are happy.

Akul and Santosh discuss about why Santosh is nominated.

Santosh wants Neethu to work out but Neethu snubs him. She is agitated that everyone, inside and outside the house, are taking about her weight. She says its not because of her binge eating, but medical issues. Neethu drags it along about how hurt she is, and how people are so insensitive.

Neethu finally talks to Santosh, and says she is sorry that she cussed him but not sorry for snubbing him. Santosh isn't too worried and says he didn't take it to heart.

Laya Kokila is rubbing into his face. Oh my, he is not being smooth... Srujan points out the same and Laya says its because of his sun burn. But Srujan makes fun of him that his whole face is burnt. Everyone laughs but Laya doesn't give rat's ass and continues with his scrubbing.

Shwetha is shoeholic, and they make fun of her and laugh.....

Wait... just noticed.. why is Harshika holding a teddy bear all over the house?? She is 24 right? Okay someone asked the same question and she says that her folk have given the doll as their remembrance and not cry. Okay, whatever!

Lights go out, and they go off to bed. Day one ended without much drama and smooth sail!

Comments:

Season two has more urban essence than season 1. May be because there is no swamiji this time to encroach from kitchen to everything. Also, this season has more of a younger lot, except may be Shakeela and Laya. So, naturally it has more of a youth feel to it. Shakeela's off-screen persona is entirely different from what roles she chooses, and thankfully she speaks good English, if not Kannada. First episde, Srujan made and impression with his management skills, Akul with his usual playful self, Neethu with her sensitivity, and Shakeela with shooting daggers from her eyes.

Contestants' performances in first two weeks

06/30/2014 to 07/13/2014 This post is about my synopsis of every contestant after observing them for the first two weeks. I've tried to be as neutral as possible because I have not picked a favorite yet. One day I might like Akul, the next day Srujan, and Aadhi the following day. My liking varies after each episode. Same goes for disliking too, although Neethu gets on my nerves on a daily basis. Akul Balaji Akul, you learning Kannada and talking like you have always known Kannada from birth is commendable. I really appreciate your hard work to become whatever you are right now. But that doesn't mean you are superior over the others. Even when Sudeep stalks to him, Akul acts as if he has been best buddies with Sudeep. He might know Sudeep from outside, but fishing out for favoritism from him isn't going to go well with the audiences like us. Last week it was very evident but he has toned it down this week, which was much watchable. During the weekly lux...

Bigg Boss Caller of the Week

Last two Saturday episodes Bigg Boss has introduced Bigg Boss caller of the week, wherein a common man/woman is given an opportunity to ask a question to the contestant. I personally think they shouldn't. I don't see any advantage behind this inclusion, because it is not adding anything to the entertainment value. The question that has been qualified to ask the house guests is a big joke.      -Asking a question about how not to get nominated to Rohit even after he has mentioned multiple times that he didn't read any book, but just a small article in internet?      -Asking a question to Adi whether he wanted to beat up Rohit or someone else like he mentioned in friday's episode? What is the significance of these questions and how did that help the house guests? or us? Come on Bigg Boss!! Is that all you have got in your kitty? Before anyone who thinks the questions are asked by a common man and Bigg Boss wouldn't know, let me clarify somethin...

Kaushal Manda - A Phoenix raising from the ashes

Last year, when superstar legendary NTR hosted Big Boss Telugu season 1, it felt more like everybody was participating in Seethamma Vaakitlo, not Bigg Boss at any stretch.... Bandhalu, bandhavyalu, thyagalu, gauravalu etc. My husband, a first time Bigg Boss viewer, had to stop me from constantly nagging that this is not the Bigg Boss I had signed up for. What can I say.... after watching all the seasons of the Hindi version and a few seasons of Kannada version, BBT1 didn’t feel like Bigg Boss at all. Nevertheless, I warmed up pretty soon and enjoyed the clean version of that season.   My oh my! This season looks like it has surpassed everyone’s expectations and more. Anyone who has seen Bigg Boss, albeit any language, already know the classic rule 101 of what not to do in Bigg Boss in the first two weeks.  Don’t alienate anyone.  Don’t ignore anyone.  Don’t corner anyone. Ask Gauhar Khan and Gautam Gulati how they won Bigg Boss in their res...
